What causes complexity to rear its ugly head? Formal business training is one of the culprits. If this is not enough, add management fads to it and we’re flooded with big words like ‘reengineering’, ‘ paradigm shift’, and ‘core competency’, to name a few. Complexity has infected all business functions and, worst of all, marketing strategy formulation and execution. Simplicity therefore much needed in today’s hyper competitive marketing world. It’s time to make things simple – for the mind, for our self and for marketing excellence. It’s time to get back to basics and simplicity to get us out of marketing jungle to see new rays of sunshine in years. This way, marketing will not seen as the art of black magic or voodoo.
